Prevalence of Depression 

The research paper "Prevalence of Depression among Senior High School Students of Bernardo College" shows that depression is one of the emotional problems, and hopelesness and helplesness are its main causes. Also, World Health Organization said reported that of all illnesses, Depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. According to the latest estimates of (WHO), more than 300 million people are now living with depression. Depression and Anxiety are prevalent problem in colleges across the country. Based on the findings of the study, majority of the Senior High School respondents of Bernardo College are experiencing such emotional problems, and hopelesness and helplesness. And most of the respondents can not explain why they experience such things, and can do certain tasks very well. As a conclusion, depressed people ignore their successes and good traits, while exaggerating their faults and failures. Students academic performance which every individual has to perform in all cultures has become an important role of the educational process. Students, Teachers, Family, and the Institution can play a big vital role to cope up and lessen emotional problem facing by the students. By having healthy lifestyle and engaging into recreational activities can be a big way to cope up with depression and Teachers and Parents need to understand how the depression affect the students and it's environments, and how to help them, and the institution can make a big way by having such symposiums and seminars.
